New sewing mill in Polotsk
On September 11, 2013 an opening of a new sewing mill, first introduction of Mogotex and its affiliate factory Mona, took place in Polotsk. This new sewing mill is the second regional project, initiated by Mogotex. The first one has been released in Bykhov, in 2011. Garments will become the main line of activity for a new mill.
Polotsk sewing factory was affiliated in July 2013. That affiliation was an initiative of Concern Bellegprom. Approximately 350 million Belarusian Rubles have already been invested into that project.
Today’s main goal for a new Mogotex affiliate is to increase garments production for export. New mill will increase export amounts of Mogotex by 5 per cent, and interior production amounts by 25-30%. The number of employees will increase as well. Now they are planning to extend number of workers to 16 employees, that will make up 385 employees. Second working shift is to be introduced.
In previous times Mona specialized in production of women’s outer clothes: jackets, suits, skirts, dresses and trousers. After having been affiliated, it has been reoriented for production of uniform for Ministries of Defense of Belarus and Russian Federation, Ministries of Extreme Situations of Belarus and Russian Federation, decorative garments for IKEA.
«Mona is not a newcomer to Mogotex — we have been in close cooperation for a couple of years by now. That’s why a new production spectrum for Mona was obvious. Mogotex constantly receives orders for garment production, thus, new production facilities are required. So this new sewing mill in Polotsk is the first and serious step towards development of new facility and increasing of production volumes. And, what is much more important — a step towards modernization of production sites and extension of employees», — commented general director of Mogotex, Mr. Matievich.
